Interior Design Color Rule
Interior designers use color rules to plan out beautiful complex workspaces. Remember, color is a powerful communication tool. It can be used to not only showcase your lash room’s personality, but also to influence mood and productivity.
The 60 30 10 rule is a color-focussed approach to plan a well-balanced lash room.
What is the 60 30 10 Rule?
For a most balanced, appealing look, select a three-color palette for your beauty studio.
- Decorate 60% of the room with a dominant color
- Decorate 30% of the room with a secondary color
- Use the remaining color as an accent in 10% of the space
Like all decorating guidelines, this rule has wiggle room for you to venture.
By following the basic idea: one dominant color for the majority of the space, a secondary color that fills roughly half as much space as the dominant color, and a third color to add splashes of your personality around the room. If you want to use two accent colors, then each gets 5% of the space.
Choosing Your Beauty Salon Colors
To choose colors that match, use the color matching wheel from Canva.
Her Lash Decor recommends first focusing on the dominant color, for instance, light grey. Then, include several lighter and darker shades of the dominant color throughout the workspace.
Even if you end up with an entirely white/light grey room, you can still liven it up with accent colors by adding green plants to balance out the room.
